Henry Miller's 11 Commandments of Writing & Daily Creative Routine

This is practically everything that has been going through my head recently.  It’s nice to know that it’s not a new thing, and while a few years ago I wouldn’t have said that, would, in fact, have felt all derivative and washed-up, it’s nice somehow now to know that probably every thought that has gone through my head has also, at one point, gone through the head of someone who is dead, and of someone who died before that person was alive, and of someone who is alive even as I am alive. It makes it feel more true, more effective, and I feel like less of a hack knowing that someone like Henry Miller felt the need to make a list of this kind to remind himself of what was important.  I’m especially fond of #10.
